From knight to knave

From rags to riches

From classrooms to boardrooms

From breeches to bridegrooms

From taught to teaching

From reading to writing

From still to beating

From bye to greeting

From loving to fighting

From living to dying

From nothing to everything

From everything to nothing

From beaten to beating

From loving to hating

From craving to waiting

Time is fleeting

Time  is fleeting….

So friends…..

Complete

Was there an unknown empty space inside me

Was I  Incomplete before  you and me became “We”?

Are you the  long lost other half of a whole

Was I Incomplete before my heart, you stole

Destiny

Today’s Daily Prompt:  Inevitable

Ah,

Inevitable it was

…. that they had but just met

…. to let their hearts connect!

Yet

Inevitable it was

…..that they never knew

….. a gift given to very few!

So

Inevitable it was

….. that they, as best friends, did part

…..  living n loving, they stayed apart!

Then

Inevitable it was

…… that their paths did cross

…… over the seas, miles across!

But

Inevitable it was

….. that at last their souls did bond

….. within their hearts love they found!

Alas!

Inevitable it was

……. that they had found it too late,

…….  to love again was not their fate

Thus

Inevitable it was

……. that fate n destiny did ordain

…….  to live in pain and love in vain.

Key to A Heart

An old post recycled…..will be back later

Today’s prompt: Secret

GOLDEN KEY : You’ve been given a key that can open one building, room, locker, or box to which you don’t normally have access. How do you use it, and why?

golden-key

Have been thinking and thinking,

Cannot think of a single thing

As the DP suggests, I want to open best

WordPress may joke may say it  in jest!

If any building, room, box or any locker

Has a treasure not meant for my rocker

I want no part of it , so goes my own ditty ,

I have no want for any more in my kitty!

Now wait – if the key opened a troubled mind

Or a beautiful heart – Ah That, I would call a find !!

No diamonds, no rubies, no silver or gold

The wonder or joy for me, can ever hold,

That comes with lifetime friendships

With real, honest n deep relationships .

So, give me a key that I may unlock your mind

Such a key would I call “golden” and ever bind!

The Rohtang Pass – the sheer White  Vastness

Sugar or spice?

Success after failure is extra sweet,

Failure after success is tough to greet

Having tasted both I’m poised to state

Too much spice is never good to eat

Learning curves in Surgery or in life

Can cause stress and a lot of strife

Talking Point

Book conversation

I love conversations. Being a woman, that does not make me very unique, I daresay!

The question I am trying to answer today is how many people do I like in one conversation. The immediate and reflex answer is two. I love having a one-on-one exchange of ideas thoughts and  opinions.

I am a social person and I love a melee of a meeting as much as the next person. I love the bursts of activity at a lively party, where the voices get drowned in the buzz of music and clanging of glasses, where there are boisterous games – in fact I enjoy conducting them and participating and winning as well.  I love the ladies club meetings the book club meetings the weekly Tambola at the officers institute, shaking a leg in a group at the monthly social do’s and so on and so forth.

Starring “Me” in My Story!

Today’s prompt : FLASH TALK

You’re about to enter a room full of strangers, where you will have exactly four minutes to tell a story that would convey who you really are. What’s your story?

Once upon a time, there was a young girl, who like all young girls in the stories she had read, dreamt of being swept away by a dashing knight on a white steed.

Alas, all the girls seemed to be pretty, wealthy, lissome and helpless – a damsel in distress, a princess. Our heroine was none of these and so she was not sure what the future held. Continue reading

The World, My Mirror

The Mirror Crack’d

You wake up one morning to a world without mirrors. How does your life — from your everyday routines to your perception of yourself — change?

The mirror has never been much of a friend to me – it may be my self-critical self or my hypersensitive self, which has made me feel that way from childhood. Having said that, I do spend a minute to peep into the mirror every time I see one! Whether in the mad morning rush or in the evening before I step out of the house for a social event, that peep is a must, sometimes barely for a minute, sometimes for much more!  Whether its a bad hair day or a bad sari day, whether it is a bright smile day or a bright-eyed day, it reflects everything faithfully.

But that’s the mirror that reflects my appearance.  Isn’t there more to me than that alone? I have a soul, an attitude, an inner self – where do I see that reflection ?images

Well,  I do believe that the world is my mirror. If I smile, it smiles back at me and If I frown, it frowns back in equal measure. Despite the knowledge and the wisdom of knowing this for a truth, there are many many days I frown at the world. I have this conviction that my mistakes are immediately reflected. One can call it providence, one can call it God, whatever that may be, it is a power that makes the world give you back exactly what you give the world. If I hurt someone who loves me, invariably someone I love, hurts me. The time period may vary but believe me, it comes back. To me, always.

The good does, too.

I would like to relate a small episode – a patient who had three pregnancy losses had a baby girl yesterday after a long period of treatment with me. As she was recuperating, she said to me, “She is Apoorva”. “Oh”, I said “my daughter is named Apoorva too.” “Yes, I know , Doctor” she said quietly, “that is why I am calling her that – I saw it on Facebook. My daughter’s  name will always remind me of you”. I was speechless. And happy. we smiled at each other.

So, the good and the bad will always come around. The world is my mirror. Not having physical mirrors will not make much of a difference. Maybe it may actually make me happy!
