Waking up to news that shook us,
Sorrow for a life lost amongst us
Fear of more of it around the corner
Fears hounding us – this that and the other
All brought to the fore
As never ever before
The heartbreaking sorrow of loved ones
The solidarity n support of known ones
Death, the all-time equaliser, dealt a rock
For the rest of us, a time to take stock
A time to grieve, time to introspect
A time to forgive, a time to forget
Time to know that time waits for none
Today it was him, tomorrow, anyone..
Rest in peace, gentle soul, no more chronicles
No more pain n hurt but yes no more smiles….
May time heal the wounds you leave behind
May your memories warm the human mind….
Keening inside maybe, but stoic and sturdy
You, Woman of Steel, are seen everyday!
In a workplace, in an office, in a bank or hospital,
In a home, in an airplane cockpit or in a school!
You are the woman balancing a kid on the pillion,
Trying to beat the clock, parting smudged with vermillion,
Oil in your hair, waiting for the light to change to green
Not the one on the Billboard or the one on the TV screen…

Avid for love,
Avid for life!
A warrior of life ,
A warrior For Life!

Weekly Photo Challenge: One Love
They came to us from two different places, so that “they could fall in love” according to my then-13- yr -old daughter.
Well, they did and how!
Wordless unconditional love
Inseparable joyful companionship
Adorable adoring expressions
Playfully teasing, yet Deeply devoted
They have been a lesson in love
The unconditional, undemanding kind,
The always- there- for -you- love.
One love – for all of us to learn
The flow of thought, the unfettered flight of mind,
Faster than speed of light, mostly kind, some unkind !!
To set them free, to roam the world, to set fire to my pen,
A joy indeed to see them dance, from my brain to my screen!!
Todays one word prompt : Screen
Slave to many Screens, the prize I guess, goes to my Phone. It’s literally my lifeline at and to my work as well as my home when I cannot be at either place for whatever reason.
Being a 24 x 7 ObsGyn Specialist, a full-time mom and wife involves several “Me’s” and it is this gadget that keeps me connected with the others while I am busy playing one “Me”.
I wake up to its gentle persuasion at 5.30 am. It gives me my daily fix of Good mornings and good wishes from my sisters and friends along with my ward updates from the Nursing Officer on night duty. Once I see off my daughter it gives me news from around the world and my own little world as well. My husband and I sometimes share jokes as part of the morning bonhomie. And who gets it to us.. our phones of course.
