A Volunteer

I  Volunteered to wipe your tears

I Volunteered to add life to years

I Volunteered to make you whole

I Volunteered to hide your mole

I Volunteered to make you laugh

I Volunteered to forget the gaffe

I Volunteered to love and cherish

Even if in doing that , I did perish!

I Volunteered to do all of that

Volunteer, you, my friend, did not

Then why the pain now,  why my hurt

I Volunteered; You, my friend, did not!

    Volunteering days, selfless ways,
gone with the everlasting materialistic chill,
thousands are bound to blood and gore,
    humanity impatient at destruction door,
love seems nostalgia, by soft hearted creed,
    profitable venture, most desirous deed,
    foolish being fed, hatred seed,
    corrupt lead, lies and deceit,
    intolerance, indifference, pain indeed,
    all that is left lingering

Arun…struck so many chords in so many different symphonies of memories…somehow there is a fulfillment associated with such volunteer work though!
