Frivolous -To be or not To be

In response to WordPress Daily Prompt:  Frivolous

Not a word I’d like to be described by,

conjuring as it does images light n flirty

Yet as I dwelt on it n racked my brain today

This,  I really and unfortunately have to say!

Not a frivolous bone in me I did say,

But would another have that to convey?

Perhaps my love for fiction sounds frivolous

To the ones who read but biographies of the famous…

Perhaps my fondness of love and romance

May make the more serious ones look at me askance …

Perhaps my taste in light and popular music

May to ones interested in classical look toxic!

Perhaps my tolerance for the lifestyle of my kids

Make me look silly, nay,  even frivolous to my sibs!

So one woman’s passion being another woman’s poison,

Young or old, ugly or pretty,  frivolous or serious, to each her Own!!

Absolutely, when they used to mock at me
for my timidity and rigidity in being myself
They said, girls don’t like the way I am
I used to say, I don’t need a hundred of them to like me
I just need one person to like the way I am
and I am sure there is at least one person that way 😀

It is this frivolousness (as you tend to guage your emotions/nature) that brings the zest in you and makes you so endearing to every one else … especially your friends & family.

It brings out the best in you & we don’t want a change in you. In any case, it is your life and what others think of you is their problem … not yours.

Frivolity adds spice to life and makes the mundane seem exciting. We enjoy yours….

I agree wholeheartedly with you. What someone likes may not be liked by another. That doesn’t make it less interesting or important etc. To each one his own. I always tell my friends to be true to themselves and just be who they are. No matter how quirky. Some will like them, some won’t. You can’t please everyone and you don’t don’t have to.
Loving your posts as always 🙂
