Footprints on my heart

A sharp indrawn breath

A welcoming warm hearth

Awaited your footsteps…..

Your first tottering steps

Moments of heart melts

Awaiting firmer lil footsteps…

Your first steps to the school ground

Your first “no entry ” board  I found

Happy footsteps back – I smiled.

Your entry into college to Engineer

Left me a proud and happy mother

I watched your footsteps bounce!

Your footsteps left home one day

Leaving my nest empty every way

Your confident footsteps made me smile☺

Now never at home, every game and puzzle

Remind me of you and your long lost nuzzle….

Hark, are those Footsteps I hear

Is your arrival home so so near

Son,  it’s been more than a year

Now footsteps are all I want to hear!

I read your words and imagine what it will be like for me one day to have an empty tidy house, without a thing out of place but the only thing not in it’s perfect place would be my children in the old familiar ramshackle mess of yesterday. I want to put the brakes on time. Thank you for your lovely prose.

A ‘from the heart’ write … especially since I have the insight into this particularly amazing mother-son bonding.

May both of stay blessed in the comfort of this bonding eternally.

Has it really been a year? We gave them wings, we now watch them soar ..with a tug at our heart strings….The Circle of life..
