She looked at the Shelf of her life
And wondered what to savor today
The spice of romance, being a wife?
Or the sweetness of motherhood, say?
The fragrance of being a loved daughter
Or the cheer of being a supportive sister
The happiness of being his bestest friend
Or the joy of likes at her blog post end?
The uplifting tag of being a “Career woman”
Or the intoxicating aroma of being just Woman?
Discarded, the myriad books fell all around
Till only one remained and held its ground
not the wife, not the mother ,
not the sister, not the doctor,
not the blogger, not the daughter.
JUST HER….
She took the thin lil book down from Life’s Shelf
And a smile crossed her lips as she finally met her Self!
