Todays Daily Prompt: Longing
Woken from slumber, she sat up with a start,
Was that deafening lub-dub her own heart??
Had her dream come visiting or was it real?
Had He come revisiting, her love, forever to seal?
The Longing in her, the oh so familiar yearning
To see him, to touch him – her soul now learning
What it was to love – to love so very much,
That even at straws, her mind would clutch!
Heart of hearts, she knew it could never be,
A sad fact from which she could never flee!
She was his forever and he was her only man,
To him n the world, she was only his other woman !
So she and her loving, longing heart would wait in vain,
Feeling the searing pain, Setting fire to the pouring rain!!
Detect a pang of sadness in most of your writings…. Sweet pain
