A lil Bit of Moi

BEWARE,  BUYERS! The year is 2214, and your computer’s dusty hard drive has just resurfaced at an antique store. Write a note to the curious buyer explaining what he or she will find there.

Dear Buyer,

If you are contemplating buying this hard disk, let me take you on a little tour to prepare you for what you will find in here. Its a little bit of me, a miniature imprint of my brain, my heart and mind.

And what would that be? First of all be warned that I hate throwing away stuff (read use “delete” button) and so there will a lot of stuff to wade through from my desktop to my drives.

I used my little notebook for work as well personal browsing so there will be quite a few  papers presentations and lectures.Even Invites and brochures of conferences CMEs and all things academic.

The bulk of it, however, will be a collection of books, music, movies and loads and loads of pictures. Pictures downloaded from my mobile, the family camera and a lot from the internet as well.

The music is a blend of Indian Film Music and International Artists. I would have my mothers favorites, mine and my daughters as well – so you will get a sampling of music across 3 generations. Not very loud. Mostly love ballads and a genre we used to call Ghazals.

Movies are usually Hindi and English Romcoms – the feel-good movies of our days. From Pretty Woman and Deewar to Gravity and 2 States.

I still love to read books as books ( read paper) , however I carry at least 3 to4 books on Kindle Reader, which is a software we use in this point in time to download and read books. From  Ayn Rands Atlas Shrugged to The Narrow Road to the Deep North  by Richard Flannagan. And a few I have downloaded but never got down to reading.

I have stored more than a few hundreds of recipes as cooking (and eating )  has been one of my favorite hobbies. You can try the ones marked with an Asterisk – they are the ones that have turned out well.

As I write this, I have started “Blogging” which is what we call a personal journal we keep online. It is in a nutshell  a log my thoughts on each day stored online. As of now I have been responding to the various “prompts” that our site WordPress provides us with. If you have time you can see my Reflections on and to the Ripples of my life.

There are hundreds of quotes and pictures and songs.Sift through them at your peril.Maybe they may be useful and also tell you about life 100 years ago.

Working in a transferable job, I have traveled the length and breadth of my country aptly called “Incredible India” and so I have some incredible pictures of my amazing country. And of course my adored family, friends and pets. These are my treasure trove – they tell the journey of my life, as a woman, doctor, wife, mother  and a human being.

I love writing – not only books but mails and posts on social media as well. Some of it has never seen the light of day. You may chance on it. It may sound over emotional – silly  ramblings of a middle-aged woman. A few secrets that may no longer matter. Outpourings of a heart sometimes over flowing with myriads of emotions.  Be that as it may, do not sit on judgement, dear buyer.

Every thought, every line, every book, every picture, every poem, this disk contains was my own, some a  lesson, sometimes only for a season,  though not always with reason.

That’s me…. just me. Tread softly, dear buyer they are my thoughts, my dreams, my words you are treading on.

My Life, My way.

Cheers!
