Of Missing Pies

http://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_writing_challenge/pie/

Food evokes all the senses: the scent of pastry baking, the sound of a fork clinking on a plate… This week, make our mouths water with stories about pie.

************

I returned from hospital one dark night

The end of the long day finally in sight.

Pangs of hunger cried out to be slaked

Longingly I thought of the pie I had baked.

Barely reached home, out of the car I jumped

And straight to the fridge I huffed and puffed.

Opened the door in a trice

Eager to wolf a big big slice!!

Alas! Of the pie, signs there were none,

The tears, they rolled down – one by one!!

Mince pie

Judging from the photo how the pie looked like, I would’ve cried too πŸ™‚

What’s pity the pie was all gone; but let’s stop crying and see how soon we can a new one in the fridge. Do we not say when one door closes there is one open somewhere? Thanks for a lovely poem.

Nope. I never make pies or cakes for some reason. I’ll spend a morning on a curry or Thai or on burritos or chili or stew or some other detailed concoction but I never ever bake, much as I love cookies, cakes, pies, muffinsβ€”Oh shoot. Now I’ve made myself hungry!!

Nicely done. I like you made it rhyme. If someone took my pie from me after a long day then they’re definitely going down lol. You know what would go well with this post a spread of this. So when you got the time check it out. I would really like to hear what you have to say.
