In response to todays Daily Prompt : Voice Work
Your blog is about to be recorded into an audiobook. If you could choose anyone — from your grandma to Samuel L. Jackson — to narrate your posts, who would it be?
Well, this is a “no-brainer” for me.
If it is my choice, I can think of no one other than the legendary Mr Amitabh Bachchan, once described as a One Man Industry to do this. He has aged now, but his baritone still holds the same fascination for me as it held when I was a teenager , ages and ages ago. I find a ring of truth in his voice when he talks, recites or mouths any dialogue. Perhaps that is why any inane piece of dialogue he would spout in his heydays, whether romantic or full of suppressed angst would touch a chord deep within me. And I would hear it over and over again.
Whether he is reciting his father’s poetry or lending his voice for a voice over for movies like Happy Feet or Lagaan , to me, its pure magic. To think that he was once rejected by a state owned Radio station sounds blasphemous!
So if wishes were horses, and I had a choice someone to narrate my posts, it would have to be him. Even my humble posts would sound magical in that magical voice…..
I am unable to add any media files to my post as of now. … But maybe these links would work. Will edit the post later.
so so true….I agree with you..he is an awesome orator…love his baritone ….

Your dream-choice is the very best. There can be nobody better than him for almost three generations of Indians who remain mesmerized by his voice even today.
Your adoration for his baritone is no secret amongst your family and friends.
Yet another well written piece. You must seriously think of writing as a parallel profession

I fully endorse your choice. He is blessed with a magnetic voice that matches his charismatic personality. The modulation and expression he brings to his recitation, reading, singing and dialogue delivery is truly awe inspiring.

Good choice for sure, and some of the others noted above too. My pick would be Morgan Freeman. Even have a magnet on my fridge saying “I wish Morgan Freeman narrated my life”! 🙂 Marianne
