LEAFY TALES

yellow leavesLEAFY TALES

Yellowing at the edges…a leaf

Felt a gentle breeze…….

It reminded her of the years gone by

When she would dance with the breeze…

She turned to him and gently smiled……..

The breeze as happy to see her, also smiled…..

As she slowly started to sway,

The breeze turned into a gale…….

Tossing her up, up and away….

Happy she was to dance anyway…

And so up she soared…..up, up and away

Laughing, ecstatic….to live her dream,

Of a world so beautiful…a part of a team,

Life was wonderful, fears were at bay.

But..the gale had to abate and it did….

The leaf had to fall and it did…….

Now fully yellow….no place on the tree..

Slowly she floated to the ground….

A thoughtless foot…….

A careless hand…..

Brushed the leaf away…

As the breeze, it went on its way.
